Mini-lesson: The Reflective Essay (The Rubric)
Since Mrs. Edwards was not able to give us our mini-lesson the otherday when Mrs. Hunzeker came in, Ms. Jones gave it in her stead today. She went over some tips for writing a Reflective Essay (Anyone writing a mission statement to the colleges should probably use the tips she gave us.) Here are some of them:
- The incident must be clear to the reader.
- Use truisms to defend your point.
- Use strong verbs and imagery.
- Must have a then and now and a change must be present.
- No bumper stickers/cliches. Be fresh and sincere.
